The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is inexpensive, often little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually pressed up the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
